Our Investment in Clean Air and Our Patients

While clean air is important in all workplaces and parts of life, it’s absolutely essential in the dental field. The nature of our work with open mouths, water tools, air tools, and the number of patients we see every day can cause many types of particles and microbes to become airborne and spread within our office. When it comes to the health of our patients and team, we don’t take any risks. We know that their health and well being is worth the extra investment to get the best equipment possible, and our brand new, state of the art Surgically Clean Air system is the best of the best.

The past few months have changed the way many of us live and breathe every day. We are more aware, more cautious, and more particular about how we live and where we’ll go than ever before. As a practice, we spent many, many hours focusing on how to enhance the health and safety of our patients and staff within our building. Cleanliness and proper sanitation have always been our priority, but we knew we needed to take it a step further. Across the board, we made several upgrades and improvements to the equipment and products we use, and the process in which we use them. Investing in the Surgically Clean Air System was our #1 initiative and something we are beyond proud to now offer our patients and staff.

What is Surgically Clean Air (SCA)?

The summarized answer is that SCA is an air-filtering system. The longer answer is that it’s a top-of-the-line, thorough, and effective way to maintain the cleanliness of our dental practice. This remarkable air filtering system helps us meet the high standards of excellence we strive to provide to our valued patients and staff. With SCA, we can work today with less risk of cross-contamination, exposure to allergens, or the growth of dangerous microbes. The air does, in fact, become surgically clean.

What exactly is in the air we breathe?

  • Dust and dirt
  • Skin cells
  • Allergens
  • Mold, bacteria, fungus & viruses
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

The dangers of mold, bacteria, fungus, and viruses are well-known, but this may be the first time you are hearing about VOCs. These are harmful, man-made chemical compounds that can be found in perfumes and air fresheners. All of these air impurities can make breathing difficult and cause serious, sometimes chronic, illness.

How Our Surgically Clean Air System Works

Many air filters have one filtering platform. The better ones have two or three. SCA goes beyond all of that by employing a six-stage filtering process. With such thorough processing, we are able to keep all manner of particles out of circulation.

The six (6) stage filtration system works to clean, purify and re-energize the indoor air and captures dust particles, pollen, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), gases, mold, allergens, viruses, odors (like formaldehyde and smoke), bio-aerosols, and many other pollutants that are found in the inside air in our dental office. The negative ion generator makes indoor air feel more pure, clean and energized to help combat fatigue. For an air purifier to deliver its benefits throughout the indoor space it needs to move large volumes of air through its filtration system effectively without impacting those people that are closest to it or being too loud.

Our Surgically Clean Air System successfully filters out bio-aerosols, odors, gasses, disinfectants, particulates, molds, bacteria, fungus, allergens, and viruses. With these out of the way, we are able to offer each of our patients a truly safe and healthy environment in which to receive excellent dental care.

Our Investment in Clean Air and Our Patients

At Campi Dental, we’re always looking for ways to invest in our patients’ health and whole-body wellness. Recently, we’ve added a Surgical Clean Air Purifier to our office and all of our treatment areas. They operate 24/7 to assure that our team and our patients breathe only clean, germ-free air.

By breathing cleaner air, the World Health Organization states that you can reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and respiratory diseases such as asthma. Our Surgically Clean Air System removes airborne pollutants and thereby greatly reduces the health effects associated with breathing bad indoor air.

Surgically Clean Air Purifiers have been proven by independent lab testing (RTI) to remove 99% of indoor air pollutants (ie. bacteria, fungus, and viruses). In practice, more than a thousand Dental Offices, Hospitals, Dental Labs, and Commercial Offices are implementing the new school of thought on the use of our standalone air purifiers.

We want every patient to walk in our office with absolute peace of mind that everything in our office, right down to the very air they breathe, meets even the most rigorous of patient health and infection control standards.

For us, it was a no brainer that we needed to implement this state of the art clean air technology within our office. If this can improve the health and wellness of our patients and staff, we had to have it. We hope that you enjoyed learning about this new technology and will spread the word on how important clean air is within your dental practice.
