In honor of Children’s Dental Health Month, I am pleased to recognize your efforts to help improve the health of our neighbors, friends and loved ones. Through educating children about the importance of good oral hygiene, you have helped to establish positive habits that can lead to a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Complimentary Oral Cancer Screening
Friday, April 26, 2013
12:00- PM – 4:00 PM
In honor of Oral Cancer Awareness Month, Campi Dental will be offering free oral cancer screenings on Friday, April 26th from 12:00PM – 4:00PM. Oral cancer is not a rare disease. Approximately 42,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer every year in the US. It kills one person every hour of every day, and over 100 new individuals will be diagnosed with it each day. The good news is that it can often be found early in its development, through a simple, painless, and quick screening.
In its early stages it might not produce symptoms that you notice so a thorough screening by a trained professional is essential. When found early this disease is highly survivable. Many times it can even be found as precancerous tissue changes, the best of all possible situations. Oral cancer screenings involve both a visual and tactile screening and are totally painless. Campi Dental utilizes a new adjunctive tool, called ViziLite® which uses a special wavelength of blue light to help us identify suspicious tissue in your mouth. With it we are able to enhance the early detection of oral cancer.
Drs. Campi and dental team are looking forward to offer those that attend our event on Friday, April 26th from 12:00PM – 4:00PM, the highest quality of care with regard to oral cancer screening. It is not necessary that you have been a previous patient in our practice. This event is open to the public. However, the number of screening time slots is limited, so register with us early so ensure a spot in the schedule.
For complete details or to answer any questions that you may have, we urge you to contact us at Campi Dental office Phone Number 732-449-2228 or email us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you for your annual exam.
Early detection saves lives.
February is National Children’s Dental Health Month
To celebrate, Campi Dental would like to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
In keeping with our family’s tradition of educating our community, we regularly speak to classes about the importance of good dental health. We discussed brushing and flossing, what happens when your child goes to the dentist, what a cavity is and how a dentist fixes cavities. We also talk about nutrition and identify healthy and unhealthy snacks. A short cartoon video is shown about dental health and a typical trip to the dentist office.
The habits that we as parents instill at this very impressionable stage can be long lasting. We need to teach our children how important it is to take care of their teeth now so when they get their permanent teeth they are prepared. Parents are strongly recommended to supervise children practicing oral hygiene. They must brush for at least two minutes and brush every side of every tooth.
The best time for a child’s first visit to the dentist is between ages 2 and 3. Please feel free to contact us at Campi Dental office Phone Number 732-449-2228 if you have any questions regarding your family’s oral health or to schedule a presentation at your son or daughter school.
Wall Youth Football Completes Purchase of Safer Helmets
Thanks to the generosity of one local business, the Wall Youth Football “Adopt a Helmet” program is now complete.
Campi Dental, of Wall Township, has donated the final 25 Schutt XP hybrid helmets to the program — a significant milestone for the “Adopt a Helmet” program.
Every Youth Football player in Wall will wear a second generation, impact-improved technology helmet.
“Dr. Jack and Dr. Joe Campi have helped make youth football safer in Wall township,” Adam Puharic, equipment manager of Wall Youth Football, said. “By their leadership, we have accomplished a three-year goal in two years. We are grateful for their generosity and concern for our children.”
The Schutt XP Hybrid helmets use second generation technology similar to the helmets used by Aaron Rogers and other NFL players concerned about concussions.
The helmets feature Thermoplastic Urethane [TPU] Cushioning, which feature better impact absorption, better heat management and better hygiene. TPU Cushioning will not break down even after thousands of impacts and is resistant to mold, mildew, fungus and bacteria while providing a barrier against MRSA and staph concerns, Mr. Puharic said.
In addition to the $2,000 donation for the helmets over the past two seasons, Campi Dental is providing custom-fit athletic mouth guards to Wall Football at the cost of the materials. The custom mouth guards enable the athlete to breathe easier, speak and stop worrying about an ill-fitting mouth guard staying on their teeth. These guards will protect against concussion and mouth injury more effectively, and allow the athlete to speak more articulately.
“We are proud to contribute to the safety of children and to Wall youth football. With such raised awareness to football related head injuries, it is great to see the care and attention Adam Puharic, equipment manager, and Wall Football volunteers have taken in insuring the players are fitted properly with state of the art equipment, Dr. Joseph Campi said.
“We thank all of the volunteers for their countless hours and selfless devotion that made this possible for the players.”
