What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants replace natural teeth, restoring the aesthetics and function of any missing teeth. A dental implant has three parts: the implant is a titanium or zirconia screw placed in the jawbone to replace the missing tooth root. Once the implant has fused with the surrounding bone, a slender pin called an abutment is inserted into the center of the implant to attach the crown or prosthetic, which is fabricated to resemble the original tooth’s appearance.
Guided Implant Technology
Campi Dental now offers an exciting alternative to traditional implant placement. Guided implant technology builds on the success of conventional implant surgery, enhancing its accuracy and efficiency while minimizing discomfort.
Our dentists use our new cone beam 3D imaging technology as a guide to fabricate and place dental implants more precisely and efficiently. This advanced technology allows us to combine our years of experience with the latest advancements in digital technology. The result is anatomically perfect placement for maximum function, comfort, and beauty.
With guided implant surgery, we significantly reduce surgery times. Some patients can even get their new teeth in a single office visit!

Traditional Dental Implant Process
The traditional dental implant process has several stages and can take an average of 6 to 8 months. There are two main procedures, separated by a recovery and healing stage. At Campi Dental, we guide you through every step to ensure your treatment is as effective and convenient as possible.
First, you will come into our office for the implant placement procedure. During this appointment, Dr. Galante will remove the damaged tooth and prepare your jawbone for the implant. Bone grafting may be needed if your jawbone lacks sufficient volume to support the implant successfully.
After placing the implant, a healing cap is attached to protect the surgical area during the healing process. Over the next few months, your jawbone will fuse with the titanium implant, forming a solid foundation for the new dental crown or prosthetic teeth. You will return to our office so Dr. Galante can ensure your jawbone is healing and growing correctly.
Once your jawbone has healed and bonded with the implant, you will return for your final crown scan. During the implant restoration procedure, Dr. Jack or Dr. Joe attaches an abutment to the implant, ensuring a perfect fit for your porcelain or zirconium tooth or the arch of replacement teeth.
Who is a Candidate for Dental Implants?
If you are missing one or more teeth and would like a permanent replacement that is fully functional, you are a candidate for dental implants. You must be healthy and practice good oral hygiene. One of our dentists will evaluate your teeth and gums to determine whether you need treatment for gum disease before beginning treatment.
Individuals who may not be candidates for implants include those with bleeding disorders, advanced periodontitis, uncontrolled diabetes, or certain immune disorders. Please provide this information to our dentists and surgeons at your appointment.
What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
They Function Like Natural Teeth
Dental implants restore your ability to eat the foods you love, speak clearly, and brush your teeth easily. Unlike dentures, implants are permanent, so you do not have to be embarrassed by shifting or slipping teeth.
They’re Durable, for a Lifetime of Smiles
In addition to being permanently fixed in the jawbone, dental implants last longer than any other dental restoration. Dental bridges might last 10 years, dentures might last seven, but implants can last 30 years or more. For many individuals, they last a lifetime.
Implants Stimulate Healthy Bone Growth
When you lose a tooth, you can lose up to 25% of the surrounding bone mass in as little as one year. Removable bridges and dentures do nothing to stimulate the jawbone because they rest on your gums. A titanium or zirconia dental implant replaces a tooth’s roots, stimulating bone growth around the implant and keeping your jawbone strong.
They Preserve Facial Structure
One of the unfortunate side effects of losing teeth can be facial misalignment and a sunken appearance. Gaps from missing teeth cause structural instability in nearby teeth, affecting your face’s overall structure. Dental implants replace missing teeth, maintain your facial structure, and restore your natural smile to prevent a prematurely aged l
