Digital Radiography: This
form of computerized radiography uses a standard dental
x-ray generator as its radiation source. Digital radiography
reduces radiation exposure 60–80%. A small intra-oral
sensor that is placed in the mouth collects the image.
The color capabilities show our patients more meaningful
pictures than black and white. The “zoom” capabilities
allow our patients to view localized areas for a better
understanding of their diagnosis. Digital radiography
assists in the detection of cavities between the teeth
that may not be visible in the mouth. Cavities that are
just beginning can be detected earlier on a radiograph
so that your treatment becomes less invasive and costly.
These x-rays are especially significant in evaluating
your periodontal health because your bone level is measurable. |
Intra-Oral Camera: This camera allows us to quickly and
easily photograph the inside of your mouth. The photographic
image can be projected immediately onto a color monitor.
Since this magnification allows you to see your mouth more
clearly, you are better able to participate in your treatment.
Laser Restorations: We pioneered the use of dental lasers
more than 15 years ago and have remained on the cutting
edge ever since. We currently utilize four different laser
wave lengths including soft and hard tissue lasers. Lasers
are now used for a wide variety of procedures encompassing
fillings, gum surgery, frenectomies and biopsies.
Opus Dent Laser: Our newest—the Opus Dent Erbium
YAG and CO2 hard and soft tissue laser—enables us
to perform an array of services more comfortably, eliminating
drilling in many cases. Because laser treatment is fast,
conservative and painless, it is especially useful in treating
children. Benefits include reduced treatment time, less
pain, quicker recovery with less risk of infection, and
reduced need for pain relief or antibiotics. Drs.’ Campi
have received advanced training in the use of this new
technology.
Diode Laser/Nd YAG Laser: Soft tissue lasers used for
periodontal surgery, biopsies and cosmetic re-contouring
of soft tissue.
Implants: We have the ability to restore various types
of dental implants. We offer a variety of different implant
systems and can perform multiple procedures in the same
day. They can be used for bridges, dentures, and crowns
to replace any number of teeth. Drs.’ Campi will
evaluate your dental needs and determine if you are a candidate
for dental implants.
Air Abrasion: Fine particles of a sand-like material are
released under high pressure directly to a localized tooth
surface. These forced air particles replace “drills” to
remove decay from the tooth surface, making the procedure
more conservative, less invasive, more comfortable, and
faster for the patient than conventional treatment. Typically,
no anesthesia is required for this procedure. Air Abrasion
is used for small to moderate sized cavities on the biting
surface of the teeth. It is also useful in treating children
quickly and painlessly.
